I woke up and I brushed my pink hair out of my face. It seamed like it was getting longer each day. The floor was cold, so I put on my slippers. I went to go take a shower. It was around six oclock. I started the shower and got in. The water took a while to warm up, but I was used to starting off cold. I took short showers, so I was done in no time. I went to go get dressed. I put on my neon yellow hoodie and jeans. I quickly brushed my hair and put in a hair clip to keep my bangs out of my face.
Mom, Im going.
Make sure you get everything, okay.
Yeah, sure Mom. I got on my bike and headed for the store.
Ami, how are you? It was one of my friends from my old school. I hit the brakes hard and fell off. Are you okay? I had just fallen off my bike. How did she think I felt? I had a bruise on my arm and I must have had a bloody knee, because there was a big red blob on my jeans that wasnt there before.
Yeah, yeah, Im fine. Help me up. She took my hand and helped me up. Thank you.
So, how ya been?
Ive been good, you?
Good. So, youre moving? I nodded. Yesterday was my last day at my school here in Okinawa . Tomorrow, Id be moving to Tokyo . Her eyes started to water. She hugged me and wiped the tears out of her eyes.
Its okay. Take a chill pill. Im going to visit you whenever I can. Plus, you never know, maybe Ill move back. I hope. You got any plans for this summer?
No. I have nothing planned. I got back on my bike.
Come by later, okay? She nodded yes. Bye. I waved to her and sped down the hill. I stopped at the store and put a lock on the bike. Lets see, bread, milk, soda, coffee. How am I supposed to carry this all back? I got everything and headed home. I unlocked my bike and tried to find a way to carry everything. Everything fell out of the bag and spread everywhere. Crap. I started to pick everything up. The soda rolled into the street and I didnt see any cars, so I picked it up. I heard a horn honk and I sped off the street. The guy was yelling at me in some language I dont know. Probably a foreigner. Okay, okay, Im sorry! He drove off and I put everything back in the bag. I never had any bad luck like that ever before. Well, theres a first time for everything. When I got home, I saw the moving truck and Mom was loading everything up.
Go pack, and hurry up. I want to be out of here eight tonight.
Alright, where do want everything?
Just put it on the counter. I walked into the house and put everything in the kitchen. I started packing everything in the suitcases. I soon filled up my one suitcase with shirts, one with pants and skirts, another with shorts and ties, and one with shoes and sandals. The movers had taken apart my bed and packed my dresser and nightstand. I just started wandering the house, thinking about everything that had gone on over my 17 years of being there. First steps, birthdays, wedding, everything. Kiru, come here boy. Kiru was my German Sheppard. He came running to me. He was really big and knocked me down. Hes been around ever since I was twelve. Hes like my loyal companion, pretty much what dogs are. He was a special one. When we found him, he was really small and we thought he was going to die. A few months later, he was over twenty pounds and running all over the place. Come on Kiru, lets go for a walk. I got his leash and we left.
Mom, Im taking Kiru for one last walk around here.
Okay, just be back soon, your father will be here and were going to have lunch.
Yeah, sure. I started heading to Hiros house, I was going to miss him the most. He lived down the street from me. I rang the doorbell and he answered. I didnt know what to say.
Ami, whats up? I dropped the leash and hugged him. I probably was never going to see him again.
Im going to miss you, Hiro.
Where are you going?
Im moving to Tokyo .
What? Why didnt you tell me sooner?
I thought I told you, or Irisu opened her big mouth and told you.
No, she didnt. I never heard anything about it. I picked up the leash and I took his hand.
Come walk with me? He nodded.
So, youre going to Tokyo .
Yeah, my dad got transferred there and I have no choice. Its either go to Tokyo or live in an empty house and thats no fun.
Cant you live with Irisu or go live with your grandparents?
No and no. I already tried to convince my mom about letting my live with Grandma, she said no. We stopped in front of my house I opened the door. I took Kiru off his leash and let him in.
Im going to really miss you.
Yeah, well, bye. He left and I closed the door. Dad came home and everyone was in a good mood. We finished loading the truck and we started driving towards Tokyo . The next day was my first day at a school in Tokyo . Whoopie.
